Explore the Dorset coastline and discover how we sustainably harvest seaweed, identify wild coastal species, and care for the marine environment that inspires our products. You’ll learn about the seaweeds we work with, their traditional uses, beneficial compounds, and the journey from shoreline to spa.
Starting from Middle Beach in Studland, this half-day experience explores the shoreline, heathland and hedgerows of one of Dorset’s most beautiful coastal landscapes. Along the way, Dan will introduce you to a variety of edible seaweeds, coastal plants and seasonal wild foods, sharing his knowledge of sustainable harvesting, local ecology, tides, safety and the history of the area.

Depending on the season, you may discover shellfish, razor clams, edible coastal plants and several species of seaweed. You’ll learn how to identify them, understand their uses and harvest responsibly while respecting these fragile coastal ecosystems. The experience concludes with a warming soup on the beach flavoured with one of the wild ingredients encountered during the session.

Dan has appeared on Sky, BBC, Channel 4 and ITV and has spent years exploring and sharing the wild food and coastal environments of Dorset through Fore Adventure.
